Lung Leg Weekly $75 For Sale

This new work goes back to one of YKMF’s earliest images, Lung Leg staring fearlessly out at the viewer, gun in hand, in the midst of the words “You Killed Me First!”. This time the image is in half tone and ripped at either edge, slapped across a vividly bright red background. Images of newsprint, set at a horizontal slant, peek out from the wash of red. Atop this background, YKMF has put a mist of white with bold droplets. The white sets the red deeper into the background and the image of Lung pops from the canvas. 24” x 36” Newsprint, wheatpaste, print and acrylic on canvas...

Relic 1334: Created for the Lethal Amounts Rozz Williams Tribute art show in early 2013, this tribute piece features intricately designed prints on both the front and borders of the canvas. Then, in juxtaposition to the gritty dirtiness, gold leafing has been applied as if liquid gold had been lightly splashed on the piece. 24"X18" Acrylic, coffee, print, gold leaf and wheat paste on canvas. $50

Bars and Stars I & II

YKMF creates more relic-esque work in this series Bars and Stars, which brings to mind the feel of a displayed piece of American history. Beyond that feel of Americana, the fabric flag which has been added to the canvas is cut and placed as a reflection of Raymond Pettibon's Black Flag logo. Often times, YKMF uses images from his musical background and the images which influences him as both a musician and an artist. Each piece takes this well recognized image of American music history and the punk rock imagery which is close to YKMF, and elevates in to something else.

Rat Eyes: For Sale $15

Rat Eyes: YKMF has re-appropriated a spring loading rat trap as a canvas for a truly distressed, abrasive looking piece. The trap has been painted with a black Lung Leg stencil across the upper half--ghost like in form-- and red blood-like spatters across the bottom, almost suggesting what happens to a creature in this devise. The bloody section of the piece has a light dusting of glitter across it which catches the eye. The glitter suggests something glamorous, although everything else about the piece is gritty with distressing to the metal parts giving it an aged look. Acrylic and glitter on wooden rat trap. 3.5" x 7" $15.00
